Pursuing grants isn't about luck or chance — it’s about presenting a well-planned program in a concise and convincing manner. This two-day course is designed to demystify the grantwriting process for entry- and mid-level grantwriters.

Using a combination of presentations and group activities, you will learn how to provide grantmakers with the information they want. Course materials include templates that you can customize for use with your own grant applications. A certificate of completion is provided.

Topics include:

  • Researching grants and contacting grantmakers prior to applying
  • Planning programs prior to writing grants
  • Preparing information commonly asked for in grant applications
  • Creating and formatting budgets for grants

Instructors: Paul Mastrodonato and Margit Brazda Poirier of Nonprofit Works, who help organizations plan programs and budgets, and seek funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Their presentation style is known for being informative, interactive, and fun.
