Comments by Course Participants Here's what people who've attended Nonprofit Works courses and workshops have said about them. Grantseeking – Board Development – Planning Grantseeking "I like to attend as many grant workshops as I can to keep my skills sharp and stay up-to-date on new information. Your seminar was a great blend of clearly articulated information, fun, and new ideas and sources of which I wasn't aware. Keep up the good work. You provide a great service to nonprofits. We enjoyed the session very much. I heard nothing but great feedback about the course--your presentation style, your materials, the common-sense nature of what you talked about, etc. People felt it was a good investment. Thank you so much! I learned more in two days than I learned in an entire semester course in college. I took Nonprofit Works basic grantsmanship course sponsored by Oswego County, New York. Paul Mastrodonato presented the nuts and bolts of grant writing with supportive handouts in a format that could be immediately implemented with success. Since the course, I have written six successful grants enabling several nonprofit organizations to exceed their goals and objectives for the year. I recommend Nonprofit Works to any organization wanting to improve their grant writing success. I truly appreciated the presenter's professionalism, knowledge and patience with the class. I understand the process now, and I have the tools to use in navigating grants! "Your workshop was inspirational. Clear, concise and rooted in common sense - with a touch of human pyschology. Thank you." “I immediately put some of your suggestions into practice and feel confident that the skills I learned at your workshop will serve me well in my position.” “I learned a lot of valuable information at your grant writing and grant research workshops and it certainly paid off! I just received information about the first grant I wrote. We got it!” “Exceptional! After taking the course, grantwriting seems a lot less intimidating.” "I look forward to your next class. This was presented in a way conducive to learning and retaining info. This helped me see that grant writing involves much more than writing the proposal.” I had limited experience in grant writing. After this class, I feel more comfortable and that many of the ‘secrets’ are out! “Nonprofit Works does a great job of presenting many topics in a short amount of time. I thought it was very informative and will take more courses in the future.” "Excellent course. Time saving tips and the toolboxes are very helpful. Paul (Mastrodonato) covers the topic better than any presenter that I've encountered. The Seven Step Development Process is worth the cost of the course by itself.” “The Grantseeking Basics class was GREAT. I left the course feeling empowered and excited about the grant seeking process. Thank you!” “This grants workshop was one of the most informative/beneficial I have attend - by far.” Board Development “Thank you for an informative and useful workshop on An Effective Board of Directors. The information received will be invaluable and help our board function at a high level, and better allow us to fulfill our mission.” “I enjoyed the course and found the material very useful as a board member, and in my work, as well. I also liked the presentation style!” “I appreciated the ideas around how to assess and organize the board, which is something our board really needs help with.” “I thought overall attention given to different areas of board management was great! You were able to support many of the board areas I have dealt with in the past year. I feel as though I am on the right track.” “Great handouts and resource list!” Planning "Your workshop was most valuable and I appreciate the obvious preparation that went into it. It was a pleasure to meet you and observe your dedication to the organizations that struggle to keep afloat." "The courses have re-energized me and my approach to planning and grant writing. I feel I now have the tools to vigorously tackle the most daunting
tasks I'm responsible for. Thanks, again!"
